Regional Spending Patterns in Azure

The Azure Plan Regions view is part of the Microsoft Cost Report. This report provides you with a detailed analysis of your Azure spending across different regions, helping you understand cost trends and identify potential savings opportunities.


Prerequisites

To use Azure Plan Overview in the Arxus Portal you need;

  • Access to the Arxus portal with the appropriate permissions to use this feature.

How to activate?

If your company has this service active, and you still can’t use it, contact your company portal administrator (usually this person, is who in your company has “Full Role” rights to the users and permission section).


Visual Data Representation

The report includes:

  • How is the Azure cost evolving over time?: A bar graph illustrating the month-over-month (MoM) growth in Azure costs by region. This helps you visualize how your cloud spending has changed over recent months.

  • Azure Cost and Azure Cost by Resource Location: A bar graph showing which regions are contributing the most to your Azure costs. This visualization helps you quickly identify and prioritize areas for potential cost savings.

In-Depth Metrics Breakdown

Additionally, you can find:

  • What is the Azure cost over time per region?: A table providing a detailed breakdown of Azure costs by year, including monthly growth figures and percentages. This table offers a historical perspective on your cloud spending.

Filtering and Search Options

To help you focus your analysis, the report offers:

  • Date Range Selector: You can customize the displayed data by selecting specific date ranges, enabling a focused analysis of cost trends.

  • Subscription Filter: A dropdown that allows for the selection of specific Azure subscriptions, helping to narrow down the data to relevant subsets.

  • Tag Name, Tag Value Filter: An additional filter that allows for more granular analysis based on tags assigned to resources.
