How to Request a Service

Understand how to request a service, where to find the Service Catalog, and what happens after you submit your request.

Updated this week

Overview

The Service Management Portal allows you to request predefined service actions directly from the Service Catalog. These actions help you adjust DNS information, manage Microsoft 365 and Modern Workplace applications, update server configurations, or request other operational tasks in a structured and guided way.

This article explains how to request a service, where to find the Service Catalog, and what happens after you submit your request.

Prerequisites

To request a service in the Service Management Portal, you need:

  • Access to the Service Management Portal

  • A permission group that allows you to create Service Orders

If you cannot access the Service Catalog, contact your company portal administrator.

Where to Request a Service

You can start a service request in two ways:

1. From the CSM Portal Homepage

On the homepage, under Browse Catalog, you will see the main catalog tiles such as:

  • Azure

  • Modern Workplace

  • DNS/SSL

  • Server Management

  • All Services

Selecting any of these tiles brings you directly into the Service Catalog, where you can browse all categories and available service actions.

2. From the Top Navigation Menu

You can also request a service via the top navigation bar:

Service Requests > Place Service Request. This opens the full catalog view, allowing you to choose the category and service action you want to initiate.

Requesting a Service

Step 1. Open the Service Catalog

    or

  • Top navigation > Service Requests > Place Service Request

Step 2. Select the Appropriate Category

Choose from:

  • Azure

  • DNS/SSL

  • Modern Workplace

  • Server Management

  • All Services

This opens the list of available service actions for that category.

Step 3. Choose the Service Action You Need

Click the action you want to request.
A form will appear (for example: Change DNS records).

Step 4. Fill Out the Required Information

Each form is tailored to the specific service action. You may need to provide:

  • The account

  • Contact details

  • Configuration details

  • Technical values (e.g., DNS type, IP address)

  • Additional information

  • Attachments (screenshots, files, etc.)

Mandatory fields are marked with an asterisk (*).

Step 5. Submit the Service Request

Once all fields are completed, click Submit.

Your request is then converted into a Service Order and routed to the correct Arxus team for fulfilment.

What Happens After You Submit a Service Request?

1. You receive a confirmation email

The email includes your Service Request reference number (CS000xxxx).

2. The Service Order appears in your portal

You can track it in:

  • Service Request Overview (open & closed)

3. The request moves through the fulfilment workflow

Different teams may be involved depending on the type of service action.
You will be updated through the portal or email if additional information is required.
